Hello 👋 I’m Ida Shinder, a computational biologist. I develop tools for analyzing RNA sequencing data. In my independent projects, I’m also exploring what AI models get right and wrong about biology.

I’m the first author of the StringTie3 paper in Nature Methods, on software for analyzing RNA sequencing data.

Poof!

I also build applications with large language models to make everyday tasks easier. One is Poof, an app that helps people sell clothes and other belongings online. I built it while clearing out my own closet: it turns item photos into draft listings and keeps track of inventory and sales.

Research notebooks

I built my research notebooks to make ongoing research easier to share and discuss, including negative results and ideas that might never become papers. Readers can highlight a passage and comment directly on it, keeping the conversation alongside the work. I hope the template can help other researchers share lab notes, hold group discussions and work on papers together.
