“Our passion for learning is our tool for survival "

Hello, 👋 I’m Ida Shinder, a computational biologist who builds tools to interrogate how our cells read and edit genetic messages. My work focuses on RNA splicing: understanding how genes are interpreted, how that process breaks down in disease, and whether the AI models we’re building to predict it are actually learning the biology or just memorizing patterns. I care about making genomic research accessible, both the data and the software. You can explore some of my recent work in my research notebooks.
